Because Of You...

Because of You,

You always learned the hard way and you faced so much misery during your youth.
Yet you never turned to failure, you never allowed it.

You heard me cry during the night in my sleep. You knew why. You knew I was too scared to admit the truth to you as I thought it would hurt you. So I went on pretending that my pain was fine and I had hoped one day it would go away.

Because of You...

The pain you faced, never made you fade away.
"Annie", I heard you say when you saw the tears stream and the sound of me sobbing.
And you said;
"My heart never broke because it wasn't whole. Then I had you and it's all for you."

Your so strong, you never fall.
You always stand tall.

Sometimes, I see you cry and it's very rare. You'll say to me;
"Every Warrior deserves to shed a few tears."

You taught me to be brave.
To stand tall when I feel incredibly small.
To hold my head up high!

You were nineteen years old, I thought it would have broken you to be alone.
It was tough for you, but you made it seem easy.

It wasn't the life you had planned.

Every time you put me first before anything else and you stayed by my side. Even when you felt forced to smile or laugh, you shone in the light until you knew you'd let me lean on you until it was dawn.

You were never afraid.

It's because of You...

My first footsteps were there with you, I saw you out of the corner of my eye. As you stood, watching in case I got hurt.

I tumbled and I cried...
There you were to catch me for every fall.

Though, you knew I felt like something was missing.
I guess, that's why I hated jig-saw puzzles as I could never locate the missing piece.

Our picture frames stay sat on the side as they always have.  I know, you never planned on this life and especially not for me.

You comb my long blonde locks and time has flown by.

Your Little Island Girl is now Miss City Sunshine and she's okay.
She gets scared but she carries on because of You.

She stands tall and remembers that the lights not far from you. If the skies are grey, she'll be there.

And that's when she told you;

"Sometimes, you need to lean on others and let them be strong for you for once and that's exactly what I'll do for you.
I'll be strong even when I feel incredibly weak.
I'll take the risk and call you for advice at quarter to three in the morning not knowing what to do.
I'll cry when another stupid boy breaks my heart.
I'll hideaway, when I try to forget everything until you make me remember and face the pain until it no longer remains.
Your strength has built me so high, that I no longer fear heights.
Your confidence and hope got me through the years of the unknown.
It's because of You!
When the skies are grey you'll see me appear and I'll never let you be afraid!
Even when it's not okay, you'll know it be because I'll never leave you.
I'm no longer afraid!
I want you to live your life, to find adventure and to lean on me."

Follow the footprints that are waiting for you in the sand and you'll always find me not far behind you...

Because of You...

When I Get To Warwick Avenue...

Dear Warwick Avenue,

It's been a while, since I saw you yet it seems like it was yesterday. Some people would say that's wishful thinking though some would say that's called being under a spell! Why wouldn't you release me? Was it being under you spell which made me, me? Or was it becoming your shadow which allowed me to see the light to notice me? Will we ever know? Has this become a journal full of thoughts spiralling round and round? I guess, it's an endless amount of questions that may never be answered...

I'm standing up alright on my own! Though, I often heard you criticise in silent whispers when it appeared you were praising me! I become a stepping stone.

Had I doubted myself that much to even know what were whispers and what were sweet nothings?

In time, I hope you'll know what you did to me! Although, it's transparent you will never notice!

I still remember the words you used to silence me, the endless promises and the sweet nothings which appeared to be our future... At what point, did you realise I would lay wide awake knowing that's all it was?... Sweet nothings.!

Time and time again, I allowed you back in to know the promises were never true. I guess the word, I am looking for is 'hope'.

To scared to walk to the door and to know it's through.

The cycles circulating over and over wishing that the train wouldn't come. It felt like I was never arriving but always departing. None  the less, I never wished for the train to come, as you were all I knew.

My world metaphorically had become a train crash, though I found myself crumbling when you weren't there? Why? I often wished you would leave, then I figured that's all everyone seems to do.

Is it a reoccurring curse?

The blame whirled round and round. I blamed you!

The burning sensation as you walked away to know you could smell a sweet scent of success.

Your sweet goodbye was a deadly kiss!...

How was I meant to forget you? Who was I, without you? Everyone around me, become ghosts who appeared to be there but were they really there? Not without you, life become a blur.

I couldn't nor wouldn't ever run back  as your love was torture but it was a torture that made me live until the end. We said our end to a goodbye a long time ago.

Warwick Avenue, appeared to be the beginning of it all... The first baby steps, the first baby word and of course the first on-going cries as I often fell over as a child. It was time to set foot into a new world.

To fade away from you as you're and always will be unforgettable. I couldn't allow you to stand their to enjoy watching me burn any longer. It was time to fade.

Why does he do me that way?

You're going down honey!

You said you can't live without me,  so why aren't you dead yet? Why are you still breathing?

After all the time, you still have that hold which you once requested from me. Standing by you seemed so easy, yet why was it so hard? Full of regret, empty promises and disappointment.

Would I go through it all again, I would in a heartbeat. In order, to reach the point of where I am now and that's far away from you.

You made me become so numb, so un-me! You trapped me in a world where I wasn't me!

Was that your goal, to leave me trapped in a parallel world without you? Did you want me to experience the highs and the lows? Isolated from a world I loved and a place I knew!

You lied to me, not just once but day in and day out.

All the days we spent together and now I am finally departing.

It seems it's been a while since I was here, round and round I would often search for the avenue until one day it hit me that I wasn't ready to depart.

Goodbye Warwick Avenue...

Getting Back To Me And Dealing With Emotions After A Break Up...

Good evening everyone!!

How are you all doing? Good I hope!! Life is all about smiling and seeing the goodness in difficult journeys we all lead!

As you most likely all know, I haven't turned to my blog for a few days as I needed a few days for myself!! I hope you don't hate me for that ha-ha!

In terms, of my last blog post I would genuinely like to say thank you to everybody who has supported me. It's been a difficult past few weeks which I am sure you can all understand. We have all had our hearts broken before, haven't we?

Sometimes, it's really important to know that no matter how hard you try and how much love you have for someone it's just not meant to be!

That's not me saying, you shouldn't keep the good memories or the happiness you had with that certain someone whether it be an ex partner or friend. Memories will always stay! It's just a new chapter for you to make new ones!

The worst thing you could do is turn to bitterness and hate!

Everybody goes through different journeys and that's important to remember! In that case, we all deal with things in different ways!

I guess, what I am trying to tell you is it's really not healthy on you or your body to go through added stress!

Find your happy place, focus on yourself.. Find time to focus on you and your body! Remind yourself what's important!
You know, a dear friend of mine shared this quote with me the other day and it really hit home for me! Life isn't easy for anybody, a prime example would be my nan who sadly grew up without her mum at the age of eighteen! I literally take my hat off to her, she is a rock! She survived and got back to the top, at no point did she let difficulty stand in her way! I admire you nan!

Being strong is most certainly part of my genes that's for sure!

Ladies, we're all survivors! Don't you be afraid to forget it!

'Difficult roads often lead t beautiful destinations.'

I could let the difficult roads ahead of me get the better of me. However, surely that's the easy option right? Why would we settle for the easy options when we have so many goals and beautiful destinations ahead of us?

The reality is pretty simple, sometimes there will be unanswered answers in your life... You may never understand, why situations have happened! But it's okay. Make your own answers and develop an understanding for yourselves...

Move on... Move on with your lives and be strong as there are plenty of journeys ahead of you all!

Be patient with yourself and your life journey...

You're all on this pathway for some reason...!

'The Journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.'

Let yourselves be willing to take those steps!

Before, I forget to mention I have quite a few upcoming blogs that I have been planning to drop online soon! I can't wait, the anticipation is literally killing me inside....

Let's just say.... a few make-up blogs and fashion shoots are pretty overdue!!

I can't wait! to share them with you all!

Picking Up The Pieces...

Hey everyone, are you enjoying your lazy Sunday just like I am?...

As I have sat and explained many of times before just because I'm a blogger that doesn't mean I post everything and share my life story online... It's not actually that interesting, so you aren't really missing out on a lot ha-ha!!

Most of you who are reading this right now may most likely know. I'm not deliberately hiding anything from you all, it's just sometimes we all like to have our own privacy to deal with things, hold our heads up high and move on from things.

Life is truly a lesson that we all learn from. No matter how hurt we all feel through situations, you wouldn't come out stronger if you didn't fight or feel pain!

What's important to remember is; their are people who are always in a less fortunate situation than yourselves. Think of those.

I'm not saying to hideaway from your situations, I'm saying to let time mend.

My most favourite saying, 'Things Happen For A Reason' - no matter how lost you feel because you can't understand why things have changed... Put your focus on yourself.

Find time for yourself, don't become somebody your not as that's really not attractive.

But most importantly enjoy yourself. Have fun with your loved ones and make time for yourself.

Don't waste your time thinking what if or to even consider what may happen during your future.

Trust me, there is absolutely no point in thinking about anything like this due to the fact that nobody knows... Only time will tell.

Keep yourselves surrounded by friends... Focus on your happiness and then things will fall into place the way they should.

I know each and every single day their is someone feeling heartbroken so mainly this is for you girls or boys out there right now who need a shoulder to cry on! Trust me, you will get through this. It's not the end of the world, it may feel like it is but it's not!

Your lives are only just beginning!

Much Love Everyone,

AB x

You Can't Erase The Past, But You Can Write The Future...

Happy Sunday everyone, hasn't the weather been incredible today? I was definitely pleased to finish work early and head out to the beach!! Hopefully, the sun is here to stay!!

I had to share the photo with you all as I'm going to completely kill the good vibes and head into a downer kinda mood...

It's one of those live, learn and move on blogs... We all know them ones, right? (Good one Anya, you know how to kill the mood don't you?!!)

It's hard to kind of reflect onto the past sometimes for me as it's almost like I block everything out... I put up a brick wall and fill it with cement then move on I guess! But I always find meeting up with friends who have been with you from day one during every situation you can think of that kind of tends to help me remember... Then I guess I tend to remember the feelings and the state I was in.

As you can probably tell one of my favourite motto's is of course the title of this blog:

"You Can't Erase The Past, But You Can Write The Future!"

Even though, I tend to leave the past in the past it's good to kind of remember memories as everything happens for a reason right?

There comes a point in your life, when you realise decisions you made during that timing of your life may not have felt like they were the right ones. It takes time, it takes time for things to fit into place. There's no denying the fact it will take time as it could take: years, days, months, hours or weeks. Who knows? Only you will know when that time is right!

From looking back to a year ago there is so many things I would love to change about my past.. There are so many situations I would love to differently, but would I be where I am now? No!

It wasn't because there wasn't feelings or love there because there was! I guess sometimes we all face reality and wake up to face the facts that something we fought for wasn't actually right for either of us. Sometimes, it's time to smell the coffee in the morning's and realise you weren't fighting for yourself...

You weren't fighting for something you truly wanted, it almost felt like an illusion if I look back now you see everything from the other side of the mirror... I look into the mirror now and see someone who smiles without even realising they do and that's because I managed to focus on finding myself and my happiness!

It's not one sided, there are always two sides to a story and this is the point I make to everybody it's about taking the time for yourself but also to appreciate both sides of the story.

Was it worth all the tears, lies and upset? Yes it was due to the fact that we both managed to find ourselves, set ourselves free and be happy.!

There's a saying which has been used a lot when it comes to relationships -

When I take the time to remember who I was a year ago I would say I appeared weak but now I feel confident, happy and strong. I have the confidence to focus on what I want which of course is to write! I don't hold back anymore, I know what I want...

I had the confidence to make a blog and share everything I love with you all and I guess that's the focus point to make. Without, mentioning names (we both sorted ourselves out and focused on what's important!)

It's okay not to feel strong, it's also okay to feel weak but it's important to put yourself first! Don't be afraid of doing that!

I hope I haven't droned on too much, let's hope you have managed to keep awake ha-ha! I am praying I haven't bored you all!!

Leave any comments or thoughts you have below, as I would be more than happy to help you!

Much Love, Anya Marie! xx

My Top Tips On How To Make A Long Distance Relationship Work...

Hey you guys, I'm back and I've got so many blogs that I want to share with you all. So make sure you all keep your eyes peeled on the blog, as there's sure a lot for me to write for you all.

It's been a few days, well to be precise it's been just over a week since I last wrote a blog for you all... I bet you have all been wondering where I've been, right?

You know I love making you wait, as I love the fact that you all play the guessing game, wondering what I've been up to.

You've probably seen from my social media's that Scott has been back down to the Island for a few days. If you haven't guessed why, I'm going to continue making you wait as that's definitely something I have to share with you in another blog soon.

Recently, I've been asked the same question a lot, regarding how I make a long distance relationship work. So I thought, what better way than to share how I make mine and Scott's relationship work, than on a blog. That way, you can all see my top tips can't you?

To start off with I had to share a few quotes of mine that are definitely my favourites. It's always important to me to share quotes as they stay in my mind, and words pretty much nail everything I have to say.

The quote is dead, right ? Why should we let distance determine our feelings? We shouldn't! No matter how far away a friend, family member or your partner is it shouldn't change how we feel about that person!

Many people straight away believed that a long distance relationship is never going to work! I remember my parents were very worried for me in the beginning as they knew I'd struggle with the distance from Scott, as he means the world to me. They were right to worry, it's their job and secondly of course it's a massive struggle. There's not a day that goes by where I don't miss or need him, the only good thing is that he's only a phone call away. I mean, people seem to be so against long distance relationships, and that's okay as it's your opinion, but it's my job to let you know that it's not as hard as you think.

That's not me saying it will be easy, as it's definitely not! Nobody said that life is going to be easy though, did they?

 1) The way Scott and I look at things is that, life is a challenge and during life we're all faced with challenges to overcome! Scott, isn't a challenge, (I knew he'd be reading this and thinking exactly that!) there's no way he's a challenge ha-ha! I'd say it's more of me being the challenge as I like to have things organised and us girls tend to be a little bossy compared to boys! Ha-ha! But no seriously, I would say the challenge is staying with that one person who you love more than anything, through the rocky roads of your long distance relationship! If you two can overcome that challenge it certainly shows off how much love you have for one another, doesn't it?

2) Emotions and feelings really play a key role in this without a doubt. You both could start to feel lonely and sad, this tends to create doubt and worry. Of course, the extra distance does make many things unachievable. There's no doubt that things get complicated due to emotions!

However, I would say that the disadvantages of your feelings certainly balance out as the little things such as holding each other's hands are definitely appreciated more, and from our personal experience, we definitely make the most of the time we have together. The simplest things are the sweetest, it's even down to having a meal out together or cooking a meal together, being able to hold each other, feeling each other's touch, going on a walk together and smelling each other's aftershave or perfume. All these small little things add up and suddenly mean so much more to one another.

3) I would definitely try to avoid excessive communication, you two don't really have to spend twelve hours on the phone in order to keep the relationship going. It's always, something Scott and I have been fairly good at from day one as we don't spend every minute of every day talking to each other. It's unhealthy and possessive. I always find it more enjoyable knowing I have a set time to call Scott for example after I've finished work or after he has finished university for the day. It's thought, that many couples believe that they need to compensate for the distance by talking to each other on the phone more, but this is by far from the truth, it may make things worse as you will run out of things to say.

It sounds terrible, but there is a saying that 'less is more'... It's difficult because all I want to do is pick the phone up and give Scott a phone call, but I have other things to do such as going to work and blogging, not forgetting to make time for my family and friends. I'm not saying don't make time for your partner because it's vital that you do, just try to avoid from exhausting yourselves.

It's always good to tease one another, for example make them wait for a phone call. Get your jobs done and then spend the rest of the night talking to your partner. All human beings, love the unexpected... Remember that!!

4) Plans for the future are definitely a way of keeping your relationship on track as it shows your partner that you still have an interest, as well as making your relationship feel fresh and new. There's always a new opportunity during a relationship; it's just up to you if you want to grab it with both hands.!

"If you want to live together, you first need to learn how to live apart." Pretty much, one of my favourite quotes ever. It's honestly so true, personally I could pick my life up now and move in with Scott, as it's the easier option; going back to what I said before, life is a challenge and if you can manage being a part from you partner it will be as easy as one... two... three... to live with them!

It was time to take a little break as there's so  much writing for you all to read. I don't want you to think it's an essay, so I've included another favourite quote of mine as it fits in like a missing puzzle piece.

5) Moving on swiftly. My next top tip is to set some ground rules for you both. I would advise you to have done this before your partner moved away, but it's still manageable to do so when your partner has already left. Both of you need to be clear with each other and with what you both expect from each other during the distance. Set ground rules, so neither of you will be upset or angry, with what the other person has done.

A key example of this would be if another partner went out on dates during your long distance relationship. I know if Scott ever did that I'd be running up to Hull to sort him out most likely followed by his parents and mine too. Of course, vice versa if I had done the same! In other words, are you two exclusive? Is it alright for the other person to go on dates? Discuss the commitment  level?

From my point of view, I would never say it's okay for Scott to go on other dates. I would hit the roof, I know for a fact Scott would do the same too! It's never acceptable for you to see another person if your in a relationship in my eyes, but sometimes other people have different views.

It's one hundred percent better to be open with each other about all of these things, as if you don't, you may find yourselves in situations like these.

6) Don't be afraid to pick the phone up. Just because you don't want to be possessive doesn't mean you shouldn't care at all. I would always suggest greeting each other with a 'good morning' and 'good night' every single day!! Make sure you're updating your partner on your life and keeping them in the loop as sometimes they may feel very left out. With technology these days, you can send each other selfies or video call your partner. Through putting in this kind of effort you make the other person feel loved, and wanted, and trust me that's a great feeling!

7) Avoid arguments, of course this is a very tricky concern but it's manageable trust me. For instance, if you have plans to go out clubbing or to stay at a friends for a girly night or a lads night on the xbox, make sure you inform your partner. I would say it's more important when it comes to a night out drinking, as the jealousy factor sure comes into the game. I would say it's best to tell your partner so their aware of your plans. Tell them in order to reassure them, don't be careless about this matter because your partner will only be extra worried or suspicious. Again, this isn't because you aren't trusted by your partner, it's just because as humans, we worry. Plus the fact, you are putting him/her in a position where they feel extra powerless. Just be truthful and let them in on your plans!

8) Making time to see each other is so important. As you're all aware, I have taken trips up to see Scott and he has come down to see me too. It does get harder each time when we leave each other, as our hearts grow fonder by the day. Though, I love the fact we enjoy every moment we have together. Perhaps, share interests with one another, recommend a film to watch or share feelings. Don't be afraid to include your partner, in fact they will love you more for doing so!

I found this image on my instagram and I think it's simply beautiful!

9) Do you both have a goal in mind? What would you both like to achieve at the end of the day? Do you know how long you will be apart? What's your future plans? There are so many questions that you both have to try to aim to answer. I know the answers for mine and Scott's do you know yours? The truth is, no couple can be in a long distance relationship for forever as eventually we all need to settle down.

Buy a calender, make a timeline... Estimate the times apart and times you spend together, then draw an end goal, and make it last! Make sure you both are on the same page, don't turn over the page without both of you being there!!

(He-he, I'm not being soppy but I thought this was super sweet!!)

10) Enjoy your alone time and your time with your family and friends. Looking back to when, Scott and I discussed distance, it was kind of hard but yet to some degree it was acceptable, as we all like time with ourselves don't we? Remember, your not alone. Take this time in your life to spend time with your friends and family, and even find a new hobby. There are plenty of things for you to do that doesn't involve your partner as, well as the fact that keeping busy will keep your mind occupied and time will fly by without you realizing.

11) One of my most vital top tips is to stay honest with each other. Honesty and trust play a huge part of your relationships. Be honest with each other, open up and discuss your feelings. Talk about your insecurities, jealousy and whatever else. Don't try to deal with things all by yourself. Allow your partner to help you and provide you with the support that you would like.

12) Have you ever considered writing a letter? Take a throwback to the old days and be traditional! Grab a pen and paper and start handwriting some love letters. It's the thought that counts!

13) I'm not soppy, well maybe I am a tad but finding cute couple inspirational quotes always make me smile. I end up sending them straight onto Scott, and then things like the above become plans for when we next see each other!!

Wow, that's my top tips to make a long distance relationship work. I hope this has helped you all, keep smiling and being positive as it will work out!!

Lots of love, Anya xx

A Nice Little Trip Away To Hull For The Weekend...

Good evening everyone, so I haven't been able to blog for a few days as I have been away! I have been really eager to share this with you all as I have had a lovely time with two of my favourite people! Plus it's always nice to have a little break for even just a few days isn't it?

With living on the Isle of Wight, it's always hard to travel away as we have to travel on a boat before setting off to travel. It is a pain but I always love travelling to see my boyfriend so I wouldn't change it for the world! (Cheesy, I know right but I always try to be cute ha-ha?!)

Beth and I set off really early we woke up at about roughly half five-ish it was pretty early but we had an eight or nine hour journey! It was really nice to be able to stay for an hour and a half in London as well as we visited cute little places! We loved being little tourists for that amount of time space!! I loved looking at the beautiful little places in London, there was a bakery which was pretty and pink, it's so so so pretty! I have become obsessed with the building as you can see by the photos I have taken and believe me I have plenty more on my camera roll.

How beautiful do the shops look in London? As soon as I saw the lovely shops, I couldn't resist snapping some pictures! Visiting London always makes me smile because I love the little vibe around the shopping areas, it's always such a beautiful experience especially during the Christmas season.

With the Isle of Wight, being a lot smaller than other places in the UK it's always wonderful to see how other places do things. I wish we had a shopping mall it would be amazing to see the pretty decorations! I love London!

When we arrived in Hull it was quite late, it was quarter to nine... We were shattered but we were really excited to see Scott and then to have a Chinese!  Then of course, we wanted to head on out and enjoy the night life clubbing in Hull which again was amazing!

But it was freezing!!!! We had to wrap up warm!! :( Poor Scott, for having to live in chilly weather bless him!!

I couldn't contain how excited I was to head off to the shopping mall, I knew it would be really Christmasy and cute I couldn't wait to experience it with two of my favourite people! It was such a beautiful day, it was sad knowing I didn't have long left with my amazing and handsome boyfriend but it was such a special day! I can't wait for Christmas time with Scott and Beth being reunited and of course Christmas time is about sharing it with the people you love, isn't it?

I think I have spent far too much money though and I can't wait for pay-day ha-ha!! I am counting down the days!! Aren't the views so beautiful? I couldn't wait to share my exciting little trip away with you all!

It was heartbreaking leaving Scott, it gets harder and harder each and every time. The emotions get worse as feelings grow stronger... Also with knowing that I won't see Scott until Christmas it is pretty hard as I have been counting down the days to see him, now I have to wait for roughly four weeks but hey ho time fly's by quickly doesn't it? Plus I can't wait for the Christmas countdown!

It was such an amazing time though thank you so much Scott and Beth, I love you both dearly!

As you can see, after leaving Scott I found myself quite emotional as to be expected but I am so grateful to have Beth as she understands and shares many emotions with me as she found herself a little sad leaving Scott too!! I ended up falling asleep on Beth and she took this sneaky photo of us, bless her it's such a loving photo!!

Lots of love, Anya x

P.S - I forgot to mention on Saturday morning it started to snow! Our trip away couldn't have been any better! It was beautiful seeing the snow, though we did panic a little as Beth and I knew we had to be back into work today ha-ha!
